Vessel
33 meters long and 8 meters wide, the African Dream is served by a crew of 8 professionals. It offers, on two decks, 8 cabins for 16 passengers, 18 m² cabins all with a balcony. Designed for safari cruises, the African dream has an extremely shallow draft (0.78 m) which allows it to approach as close as possible to the shores of the lake.
Activities and entertainment
Walk in the footsteps of the mythical professor David Livingstone thanks to the excursions offered from the African Dream: this 5-anchor boat (the equivalent of 5 stars on land) invites you to the depths of Southern Africa!
The African Dream takes its passengers to the most beautiful sites of this wild and authentic Africa: the East basin of Kariba, the gorges of the Sagnati river, the banks of the Matusadona national park and Antelope Island.
A real cruise-safari, passengers can discover landscapes and animals aboard small boats or all-terrain vehicles. A piece of Africa teeming with wildlife. At the end of their lake cruise, passengers leave the edge for the mythical Victoria Falls located downstream on the Zambezi and the superb Chobe National Park in Botswana.
Restaurants, bars and lounges
The restaurant and the lounge/bar of the African Dream have been designed to offer a panoramic view so as not to miss any of the spectacle played by the surrounding nature at all times. It serves a very fine gastronomy combining French traditions and local specialties.
Softly, the decoration based on noble wood and traditional ornamental fabrics offers an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. A luxurious setting in harmony with an environment worthy of the Garden of Eden.
The upper deck hosts a small swimming pool, an observation deck and an intimate terrace. Places of conviviality of course, but also of interaction with this superb region of the African continent.
Cabins
With a surface area of 18 m², the 8 cabins of the African Dream offer maximum comfort. Their bay windows open onto a French balcony and for two of them onto a private balcony.
Passengers will find all the necessary amenities for a very pleasant stay: air conditioning, television, hairdryer, safe and adapters for 220V sockets of different types.
The crew provides parents traveling with a child with an extra bed measuring 150 cm x 80 cm.
Environmental Protection
The GDI shipyards in Harare, Zimbabwe, designed the African Dream to minimize its environmental impact as much as possible. The modest dimensions of the boat and its capacity limited to 16 passengers facilitate this objective.
The engine was carefully chosen. The 300 hp Volvo Penta engines have reduced fuel consumption while their electronic control module, their catalyst and a closed-loop system allow a significant reduction in emissions.
The company CroisiEurope has also signed a partnership with Unesco to facilitate the sustainable development of river ports in Africa.
