In addition to LNG propulsion, MSC World Europa is equipped with several technologies to reduce atmospheric emissions. It is fitted with scrubbers, devices that clean exhaust gases to eliminate sulfur oxides, and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 90%. Shore power allows the ship to connect to the port’s electrical infrastructure, reducing engine use and emissions when docked.
MSC World Europa is equipped with several features to optimize its energy performance. These include smart ventilation and air conditioning systems with energy recovery, and LED lighting controlled by intelligent management systems.
