The Disney Magic was launched on January 1, 1998, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. It measures 294 meters (965 feet) in length and 30.4 meters (100 feet) in width, with a gross tonnage of 83,000 tons. Like all ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, its silhouette is inspired by early 20th-century transatlantic liners.
This 11-deck ship features 875 staterooms and can accommodate up to 2,400 passengers. The crew consists of 945 members, including hospitality professionals and maritime staff.
The Disney Magic primarily sails in the Caribbean Sea, with popular itineraries to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island offering a wide range of leisure activities.
Its art deco-inspired interior and expansive open decks offer plenty of options for relaxation, wellness, and entertainment.
Guests onboard can enjoy pools, hot tubs, waterslides (including the Aqualab, AquaDunk, and Twist’n’Spout), a jogging track, an outdoor sports court, a fitness center, a spa, an art gallery, theaters, stage shows, and youth clubs.
Day and evening entertainment includes spectacular live shows and character appearances featuring beloved Disney figures.
Captain Mickey, one of the ship’s iconic characters, hosts daily events and meet-and-greets for children on board.
Deck 11 features separate areas for toddlers (ages 3 to 5) and older kids (ages 6 to 12). At the Oceaneer Club, children are grouped by age for activities tailored to their development. Older children can enjoy team sports, while younger ones play or build crafts.
The Oceaneer Club offers interactive play areas with computers, puzzles, and building toys. The Oceaneer Lab includes a computer room, game consoles, and shelves stocked with wooden puzzles, LEGOs, dolls, and action figures. Kids can dress up in costumes or join Captain Mickey on Deck 2 for themed games and parties.
The Edge, a dedicated teen space for ages 13 to 17, features video game consoles, internet-connected computers, and board games. These clubs also offer custom menus so kids can eat on their own schedule without following the adult menu.
Special activities such as jewelry-making workshops are also available for girls.
The Disney Magic features seven restaurants. Lumière’s showcases French and American cuisine. Animator’s Palate offers an interactive dinner show, Palo specializes in upscale Italian dishes, and Rapunzel’s Royal Table serves hearty German fare.
Parrot Cay serves a Caribbean-style buffet. For casual fare, head to Duck-In Diner for grilled items, tacos, sandwiches, and hot dogs. Pizza lovers can enjoy fresh slices at Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, and the Topsider Buffet offers outdoor dining with ocean views.
Six bars and lounges provide a range of ambiances: Studio Sea is a karaoke café; the adults-only Cove Café includes a billiards room; Rockin’ Bar D is a bar and nightclub; Sessions offers a 1930s jazz lounge vibe; Diversions is a sports pub; and Promenade Lounge includes an onboard cybercafé.
The Disney Magic offers 875 staterooms, including 625 oceanview cabins and 250 interior cabins, in the following categories:
All cabins include a private bathroom with shower or tub, individual climate control, premium bedding, a TV, writing desk, hair dryer, and 24/7 room service.
Disney Cruise Line has long been committed to sustainability. Onboard practices promote waste sorting, water conservation, and energy efficiency. The company also established the Disney Wildlife Conservation initiative, which supports global biodiversity research and ecosystem preservation efforts.
