Launched on January 19, 2011, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the Disney Dream is 1,115 ft (340 m) long and 121 ft (37 m) wide, with a gross tonnage of 129,690 GT. Its design echoes the golden era of transatlantic liners.
Renovated in 2015, the ship has 13 passenger decks and 1,250 staterooms accommodating up to 4,000 guests. It is staffed by 1,458 crew members trained in premium hospitality and maritime service.
Onboard facilities include pools, hot tubs, waterslides, basketball and tennis courts, mini-golf, a jogging track, fitness center, spa, library, arcade, movie theaters, live show venues, shops, and a nightclub. Nine separate clubs and lounges cater to kids and teens, while adults can enjoy exclusive quiet areas. Evenings feature Broadway-style Disney shows starring iconic characters.
The Disney Dream features the Oceaneer Club for kids ages 3 to 12, which includes multiple themed play areas: Sandy’s Beach House for creative activities, Captain Hook’s Pirate Tutorial for imaginative play, and Sir Mickey’s Adventure Outpost for young adventurers.
Daily programming includes games, crafts, dress-up, outdoor activities, movies, animation workshops, dance parties, and more. In the evenings, children enjoy pirate-themed dinners followed by karaoke, crafts, or movie time, with staff available to escort them back to their staterooms.
The Disney Dream has 11 restaurants, including Enchanted Garden, Animator’s Palate, Royal Palace, and adults-only options like Remy and Palo. Additional casual options include Cabanas, Luigi’s Pizza, Tow Master’s Grill, Fillmore’s Favorites, Eye Scream Treats, and Frozone Treats — all with themed decor and exceptional service.
Guests can also enjoy 9 bars and lounges, such as The District, Skyline Lounge, Pink (champagne bar), Pub 687, Senses Juice Bar, Cove Café, Meridian, Waves, and Currents.
The Disney Dream offers 21 suites, 880 verandah staterooms, 199 oceanview staterooms, and 150 interior staterooms. Each includes a bathroom with shower or tub, individual air conditioning, TV, iPod dock, 110V outlets, safe, mini-fridge, vanity, hairdryer, and 24/7 room service.
Disney Cruise Line is an industry leader in environmental sustainability. The Disney Dream uses advanced wastewater treatment systems and reuses heat from its generators to produce freshwater. Onboard, waste is sorted and recycled. The company also founded the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund, supporting global environmental research and protection.
