Measuring about 1198 ft in length with a gross tonnage of roughly 250,800 GT, the Star of the Seas can accommodate up to 7,600 guests in its 2,805 staterooms, over 70% of which include a balcony. Eight themed areas await on board, such as Surfside, designed for families with children and equipped with the Splashaway Bay water park, and The Hideaway, an adults-only space featuring one of the few suspended infinity pools at sea. The completely redesigned Royal Promenade reveals panoramic ocean views and is home to more than 15 restaurants, cafés, and bars, along with an ice rink and surf simulators.
The Star of the Seas also pushes boundaries with Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, and the Category 6 Waterpark, the biggest water park ever built on a cruise ship. From zip lines to Broadway-style shows and ice-skating performances, everything is in place to make your voyage aboard the Star of the Seas truly spectacular and memorable.
Just like its sister ship the Icon of the Seas, the Star of the Seas stands out within Royal Caribbean’s fleet thanks to cutting-edge technologies aimed at reducing emissions. It is designed to connect to shore power and includes residual heat recovery systems to minimize environmental impact.
The Star of the Seas is also Royal Caribbean’s second ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which significantly cuts down on pollutants: about 30% fewer CO₂ emissions and virtually 100% less sulfur emissions.
It also features a microwave-assisted pyrolysis system that transforms waste into an energy source, and 93% of its fresh water is produced on board through a desalination unit coupled with a reverse osmosis process.
The Star of the Seas’ interior cabins are designed to optimize comfort within a compact space, ranging from about 156 to 187 sq. ft. Accommodating up to four people, they include a hairdryer, dressing table, and television. Perfect for those seeking a warm, functional environment, these cabins provide everything you need for a pleasant vacation at sea.
For those who want to make the most of the seascape, ocean-view cabins are an excellent choice. They range from about 160 to 258 sq. ft. and can also sleep up to four passengers. Modern and well equipped (hairdryer, dressing table, television), these cabins ensure a comfortable stay while offering a direct view of the ocean.
Spanning approximately 204 to 285 sq. ft. balcony cabins come with private outdoor spaces of about 50 to 70 sq. ft. Up to four passengers can stay in these cabins, which feature a bathroom with a hairdryer, dressing table, and television. This cabin type is ideal for enjoying the sea breeze and the ocean view from your own balcony.
Suites on the Star of the Seas offer a wide range of layouts and can accommodate up to eight people. They vary from about 269 to 1483 sq. ft with balconies measuring from roughly 280 to 704 sq. ft Each suite has a bathroom that includes a bathtub, hairdryer, dressing table, and television, and certain categories come with additional privileges.
Spread over three levels, this suite delights families with an interior slide, a movie room complete with popcorn machine and karaoke, as well as a private yard equipped with a ping-pong table.
One of the largest suites in the fleet, it features a grand piano, an outdoor hot tub on the balcony, and spectacular panoramic views.
This suite stands out with a convertible balcony, combining elegance with clever functionality.
Arranged over two stories, this suite has a primary bedroom upstairs offering breathtaking views and a stylish bathroom.
Designed with a stone entryway, large closets, and a dressing area, the Owner’s Suite includes a bathroom with both a bathtub and a separate shower, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Royal Caribbean delivers an extraordinarily diverse onboard entertainment experience with the Star of the Seas, catering to families, couples, and groups of friends alike.
Thrill Island stands out with captivating attractions like the Category 6 Waterpark, home to six impressive waterslides, including the Pressure Drop—one of the first open free-fall slides at sea—and Hurricane Hunter and Storm Chasers, which set the stage for side-by-side racing.
For adrenaline seekers, Crown Edge combines a Skywalk, rope courses, and a thrill challenge. The Adrenaline Peak rock-climbing wall, designed with various difficulty levels, offers a stunning view of the horizon. The Star of the Seas also hosts the Lost Dune mini golf course, inspired by lost islands, as well as the FlowRider, a surf and bodyboarding simulator.
With seven pools in total, including Royal Bay in the Chill Island neighborhood (one of the largest pools at sea at about 92 ft long), everyone can find their perfect spot—be it submerged lounge chairs or elevated hot tubs—for a moment of pure relaxation.
The ship features an impressive lineup of shows. The AquaTheater Show presents breathtaking aquatic performances against a backdrop of sweeping ocean views. At the Royal Theatre, guests enjoy Broadway-caliber musicals, while Absolute Zero hosts renowned performers in a state-of-the-art ice arena.
Music lovers will enjoy the Music-Hall, where various bands perform nightly. Meanwhile, Casino Royale promises an electrifying atmosphere with table games and slot machines.
To stay fit while on board, two modern fitness centers equipped with the latest Technogym machines are available, offering a wide range of classes (yoga, Pilates, spinning, sculpting). There is also a jogging track on the exterior deck and a multi-sports court (Sports Court) for soccer, basketball, or volleyball.
By its very nature, the Star of the Seas is a family ship, giving priority to children and teens with dedicated facilities and professionally managed clubs.
Adventure Ocean clubs are tailored by age group, from Adventure Ocean Babies for ages 6 to 36 months, to Adventure Ocean Junior for children up to 12. They take part in a variety of activities, such as science workshops, creative games, mini-shows, reading sessions, and sports tournaments.
Little ones also have fun at Splashaway Bay, a colorful water park in the Surfside neighborhood. Equipped with slides, water cannons, hot tubs, and fountains, it includes a giant drenching bucket and a multi-level play structure, delivering hours of excitement.
For those aged 13 to 17, Social 020 is the perfect hangout spot to meet friends, play video games, listen to music, watch movies, and chat in a laid-back setting. Teens also have access to the arcade in the Surfside family area, which offers a wide selection of modern and retro games inspired by the 80s and 90s.
The Star of the Seas promises a memorable culinary experience with nearly twenty restaurants and 25 bars and lounges, boasting a range of gastronomic choices and ambiances for every taste. From sophisticated venues to global cuisines and relaxed dining spots, each meal is an adventure, while the many bars entice guests to extend their evenings in settings as varied as they are immersive.
Several signature venues are included in the full-board dining package. The iconic Windjammer Marketplace offers an international buffet, and Coastal Kitchen features balanced, Mediterranean-influenced cuisine. In the Surfside neighborhood, Surfside Eatery provides a buffet designed for the whole family, and Surfside Bites serves quick bites like burgers and churros in between activities.
For a more exclusive experience, various specialty restaurants are available for an additional charge. Among the newcomers on board, the Lincoln Perk Supper Club whisks diners back to 1930s Chicago with a gourmet multi-course meal, enhanced by handcrafted cocktails and a cozy atmosphere accompanied by a live jazz band. Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen celebrates Italian flavors with homemade specialties. Steak-lovers head to Chops Grille, while fans of Japanese cuisine can enjoy a culinary show at Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, featuring teppanyaki and refined sushi. Hooked Seafood highlights fresh fish and shellfish, while Pier 7, located in Surfside, invites you to a relaxed break with surf-and-turf tacos, smoked salmon eggs benedict, or shareable dishes.
