Le Dumont d’Urville was built by Norwegian shipbuilder Vard. Measuring 430 feet long and 59 feet wide, with a gross tonnage of 9,976 and 92 cabins, it stands in contrast to giant cruise liners. It carries only 184 guests and 118 crew members—an impressive 1.5 guests per crew member ratio.

3-Restaurants, Bars, and Lounge

Le Dumont d’Urville features two restaurants: a gourmet restaurant on Deck 4 with menus curated by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse and a refined wine selection, and a more casual grill restaurant on Deck 3.

The ship’s main lounge includes a dance floor and a terrace, ideal for enjoying a drink and relaxing. A smaller bar near the pool offers beverages, tea, and coffee.

On Deck 1, the Blue Eye lounge allows guests to observe marine life through whale eye-shaped portholes and to hear underwater sounds using hull-mounted sensors.

Le Dumont d’Urville features 92 staterooms and suites in four categories: Prestige, Deluxe, Privilege, and the Owner’s Suite. Staterooms offer 205 square feet of space, while suites range from 290, 345, 409, and up to 484 square feet.

Each accommodation is refined and fully equipped with individual climate control, satellite TV, minibar, iPod docking station, desk with stationery, vanity, safe, satellite phone, 220V outlets, and unlimited Wi-Fi.
