Le Lapérouse was built between 2017 and 2018 by Norwegian shipbuilder Vard. Measuring 430 feet long and 59 feet wide, with a gross tonnage of 9,976, it belongs to the category of grand yachts.
To ensure personalized 24/7 service, Ponant limits the number of guests to 184, supported by a crew of 118. This results in an exceptional guest-to-crew ratio of 1.5. The level of service, the luxury of the public areas, and the onboard amenities place Le Lapérouse among the most prestigious 5-star vessels at sea.
From the South China Sea to the far reaches of the Pacific, Le Lapérouse offers a truly immersive sea exploration experience. Onboard lecturers prepare guests for upcoming ports and anchorages with deep insights into the regions visited.
Once ashore, Ponant’s expert naturalist guides lead land and sea excursions via Zodiac®, kayak, or paddleboard—offering intimate contact with local wildlife, ecosystems, and cultures.
While at sea, relaxation is just as important. Le Lapérouse provides a full range of wellness and entertainment facilities, including a spa, hammam, hair salon, fitness center, art gallery, theater, pool, panoramic lounge, and boutique.
Guests can choose between two onboard restaurants: the gourmet restaurant "Le Nautilus" and the outdoor grill "Le Nemo." Located on Deck 4, Le Nautilus serves the best of French and international cuisine, with menus crafted in collaboration with renowned chef Alain Ducasse. Naturally, the wine list features prestigious selections from the ship’s cellar.
Le Nemo is located outdoors on Deck 3, on the terrace of the grand salon. Guests enjoy buffet service and grilled specialties in an open-air setting above the sea.
The grand salon is the heart of the ship’s social life. Guests gather here for drinks or to join in the festive evenings organized by the crew, complete with dance floor and entertainment.
The small poolside bar near the solarium offers the perfect spot to enjoy a drink between sunbathing sessions.
Deck 1 features a true feat of marine architecture: the Blue Eye lounge, located below the waterline. Equipped with whale eye–shaped portholes and underwater sound sensors, this unique space lets guests see and hear marine life in real time.
In an ambiance of soft blue lighting, passengers can spot sea creatures in their natural habitat and listen to their songs—a one-of-a-kind multisensory experience.
Le Lapérouse features 92 staterooms and suites, divided into four categories: Prestige, Deluxe, Privilege, and the Owner’s Suite. Cabins offer 205 square feet, while suites offer 290, 345, 409, and even up to 484 square feet of elegantly furnished space—all with private balconies or terraces facing the sea.
All accommodations come with individual climate control, satellite TV, minibar, iPod docking station, desk with stationery, vanity, safe, satellite phone, 220V outlets, and unlimited Wi-Fi. Toilets are separate from the bathroom, which includes a full selection of Hermès bath and beauty products and a hairdryer.
Ponant equips its ships with the latest green technologies. Le Lapérouse features a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that significantly reduces atmospheric emissions.
Like all Ponant Explorers-class yachts, Le Lapérouse has been awarded the “Cleanship” label by Bureau Veritas.
